When i saw the list for Tiff i saw Drew Barrymore's movie and then i saw that she was actually directing it. I went to see it yesterday for and special screening in my town and i was really amazed by the touch of entertainment that Drew and Ellen offered us in this girl power type of movie. It is all about the roller's a hobby that is not that known and popular but after this movie it changed completely the meaning of roller. Drew Barrymore's acting was totally carefree she was really spontaneous Canadian actress Ellen Page did another great performance after her brilliant performance in Juno. On the whole Whip It! Is made only to entertain the movie is for entertain people not getting critics attention or whatever and i think Drew made an excellent job in this department. I'm a guy an i say "you have to watch this movie!'' Overall 8,5/10!

With Star Trek, Gene Rodenberry sought to seek out new worlds and to boldly go where no man has gone before.With the $300,000,000 bombshell that is Avatar, James Cameron can proudly stand with Peter Jackson (remember his little Lord of the Rings trilogy?) and proclaim he too has gone where none have gone before.

The planet of Pandora as conceived from the mind of Cameron and constructed with super-computers fit for the military is beyond fascinating to gaze upon. Lush forests with phosphorous vegetation house mammoth trees spiraling hundreds of feet into the air. Above the canopy, jagged floating mountains dot the sky. This is no serene setting. Oh no. Jackal-like creatures hunt their prey in packs. Panther-esque creatures barrel through the vegetation in search of food. Great winged creatures dive bomb for meals from the sky. Coexisting with these animals are the Navi.
And they live upon what we, the humans, want unobtainium.
Pushing evil capitalism to its extremes, a mining corporation hires marines to raze the land of the Navi, so they can plunder the valuable mineral deposits on their lands. In a diplomatic endeavor, a scientist Dr. Grace Augustine (Sigourney Weaver) creates an Avatar program that genetically engineers humans with the body of a Navi, so humans can communicate with the natives and come to a nonconfrontational solution. If youre confused, think The Matrix, but with people morphing into tall, graceful blue skinned people instead of manifestations of themselves. One of the chosen few for the program is a crippled Marine named Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) the perfect candidate as a new Avatar is not needed for him since he can use his deceased twin brothers, and from a military standpoint great for relaying key information to Colonel Miles Quaritch (Stephen Lang) on the Navis strengths and weaknesses.
As Avatar progresses, Camerons liberal, eco-friendly stance becomes more and more abundantly clear. Scully begins to empathize with the Navi falling in love with a warrior princess Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) and seeking oneness with Pandoras mythical mother. The natives are one with the land, an integral part of the circle of life never killing without need; never destroying without cause. The humans, Scully begins to realize, are murderous monsters that need to be stopped at all costs. He sides with his alien counterparts.
As a man conflicted, Worthington is quite good. His gradual descent into choosing whether or not to abandon his own race is well acted. Saldana, sadly, is only seen in Avatar CGI form but her voice talents capture the plight of her inner struggle and that of her peopls. The award, however, goes to Lang as the omnipotent military overlord of the operation. This guy is just plain nasty any man willing to fight to the very end for a cause he could give a damn about is a man you dont want to meet in a dark alleyway.

Visual 3D orgasm aside, in the end, Avatar is a supped up version of Dances with Wolves. The white man is still the plunderer. The Navi are the American Indians. Scully is Dunbar. That doesnt mean the film isnt very well told it most certainly is. The point is Avatar deftly uses stunning visuals and computer horsepower to mask the fact youve seen this story in another form already (if you havent, do so). It is done so damn well, actually, that I nearly missed it myself. Costners flick is a must see and so is this.

While they're waiting, Judith tells Matt about a strange dream she's been having: Two boys, one good, one bad, playing war, and a small wooden room with a dangling lamp hanging from the ceiling. She also mentions to Matt that she's been thirty-one days pregnant. The gun shop owners finally arrive, but ends with Matt shooting Hesse in the ribs, and Lincoln shooting Matt in the chest, killing him. With Hesse still alive (barely), Lincoln and Hesse run and hide inside the Toyland Warehouse, with Judith chasing them, and they split up, and Judith continues to go after Lincoln.

Turkish and his close friend/accomplice Tommy get pulled into the world of match fixing by the notorious Brick Top. Things get complicated when the boxer they had lined up gets the ~love~ kicked out of him by Pitt, a 'pikey' ( slang for an Irish Gypsy)- who comes into the equation after Turkish, an unlicensed boxing promoter wants to buy a caravan off the Irish Gypsies. They then try to convince Pitt not only to fight for them, but to lose for them too. Whilst all this is going on, a huge diamond heist takes place, and a fistful of motley characters enter the story, including 'Cousin Avi', 'Boris The Blade', 'Franky Four Fingers' and 'Bullet Tooth Tony'. Things go from bad to worse as it all becomes about the money, the guns, and the damned dog!

Plot: Matt Stifler, the younger brother of the legendary Steve Stifler, who made it big as Hollywood porn-producer and shamelessly ignores the idolizing kid brother, may claim the title of Stifmeister as his heritage, but even for his horniest mates he's little more then a bad joke. When Matt alone gets caught red-handed for a prank with the school band's instruments, present high school counselor Sherman 'Sherminator' finds great pleasure in taking revenge on him for the misbehavior Steve excelled even worse in, so instead of expelling the little prick, he condemns him to take part in band camp at Great Oaks, where Jim Levenstein's still understanding dad is filling in for the feared problem counselor. As there are plenty of girls in the competing bands, Matt hopes to turn his (mis)fortune around by smuggling in camera equipment including a robot to shoot saucy, clandestine material for his counterpart to Steve's hit video "Girls Gone Wild", an at least as 'revealing' Bandies Gone Wild. Matt's nerdy, yet also horny roomie Ernie was originally confined to the closet, but is promoted to assistant-producer when he proves himself an invaluable technician. Things get complicated as Matt becomes romantically involved with Elyse, his own school band's director, whose ambition is to beat haughty five-fold winner Brandon Vandecamp -son of a famous, rich father- as band music composer and thus win a good shot at a scholarship for an exclusive music school. For her sake Matt turns musician (on the trivial triangle by her decree, bagpipes in surprising scenes) and proves his leadership skills, but courting a 'decent' girl just doesn't square with voyeurism...
